Jayananda Prabhu is renowned for building the inaugural Rathas that carried Baladeva, Subhadra, and Jagannath through the streets of San Francisco, New York, and Philadelphia. Notably, he spearheaded the organization of the first-ever ISKCON Ratha Yatra in 1967, which took place in San Francisco. This pioneering effort marked the beginning of a cherished tradition. Jayananda Prabhu’s dedication and humility earned him recognition as an exemplary disciple and a pioneer of Ratha Yatra festivals. His legacy continues to inspire devotees worldwide.
