Nrsimha Caturdasi Celebrations on Sunday!

Nrsimha Caturdasi celebrations mark the appearance day of Lord Nrsimhadeva, Krishna’s half-man half-lion incarnation who appeared in order to protect the saintly child Prahlada who was being tormented by his father, Hiranyakashipu.

This year, Nrsimha Caturdasi falls on Monday, May 16th however, celebrations will be taking place at the Hare Krishna Temple on Sunday, May 15th during our weekly Sunday Feast.

The festival will begin at 6:00pm and will feature a grand abhisheka (bathing ceremony) of Lord Nrsimhadeva, an interesting discourse on his appearance and qualities and amazing kirtan!

The schedule for the program is as follows (subject to change):
6:00pm to 6:25pm – Kirtan (Arati)
6:25pm to 6:30pm – Nrsimhadeva Prayers led by the Sunday School Children

6:30pm to 6:40pm – Welcome and Announcements
6:40pm to 7:25pm – Discourse on Lord Nrsimhadeva
7:25pm to 8:00pm – Special Abhiskeka (bathing ceremony)
8:00pm to 8:30pm – Kirtan (Arati)
8:30pm – Vegetarian Feast (Prasadam)

Due to the grand celebrations on Sunday, we wont be having a special program for Nrsimha Caturdasi on Monday. We hope to see you and your family at the celebrations!
