What to Expect @ Janmastami 2008

Preparations are underway and ISKCON Toronto is gearing up for what will surely be an unforgettable weekend! Sri Krsna Janmastami falls on Sunday, August 24, 2008 and will be celebrated in a big way. There will also be festivities on Saturday. So here is a breakdown of all the information you need to know about the festivities.

Dates and Times:
Saturday, August 23, 2008 – 6pm to 9pm
Sunday, August 24, 2008 – 4pm to Midnight

Location:
All festivities will take place at the Hare Krishna Temple

Parking:
Underground parking has been arranged for Sunday’s festivities. An underground parking garage has been arranged for festival attendees. The parking lot is located on Pears Avenue, a 2-3 minute walk from the temple. To view the location of the parking lot, click here.

Saturday Festivities:
The program on Saturday will feature wonderful aratis, kirtan, a discourse by H.G. Brhat Mrdanga das, and wonderful prasadam!

Sunday Festivities:
Sunday’s festivities will kick off with an amazing nama-yajna at 4:00pm. The nama-yajna will help us dive deeper into a meditation on the Holy Name of Krishna. The evening program will be full of kirtan, bhajans, dances, multimedia presentations, discourses and more!

As a very special presentation a brand new drama, directed by H.H. Bhaktimarga Swami will be presented at the end of the evening! It will truly be something not to be missed.
The countdown to midnight will kick-off with an abhisheka at 11:15pm and the temple will be resounding with wonderful rocking kirtan until, at the stroke of midnight, the Deity doors will open and the Deities will be revealed in their pushpa (flower) outfits!
