Nrsimha Caturdasi Celebrations

On Tuesday May 25, 2021, we at ISKCON Toronto will celebrate the appearance day of Lord Nrsimha, also known as Nrsimha Caturdasi. This is the half-man and half-lion incarnation of Lord Krishna that is fervently prayed to and remembered several times a day in all ISKCON centres around the world. He is known for removing hurdles on one’s spiritual journey, just like he did to protect his five year old devotee who was attached to Him.

The Temple remains closed to the public and events will be conducted virtually over several days as follows:

May 17 – 21, 7:00-7:45 PM: Evening Srimad Bhagavatam Classes on Nrsimhadev’s appearance

Sat May 22, 7 pm – Discourse by Adi Gadhadhar Das

Sun May 23, 5 pm – Discourse by Amarendra Das

Mon May 24, 10 am – Nrsimha Yagna

Tue May 25 there will be an evening program starting 6:00 PM that includes Abhishek, Darshan and a presentation by Bhaktimarga Swami – Stay tuned for details!

** Invoke Auspiciousness- Participate in Nrsimha Fire Ceremony **

On Monday May 24 we are arranging a special yagna (fire sacrifice) ceremony. Potent mantras will be offered to invoke protection from Nrsimhadeva who is a destroyer of negative forces. Such Vedic Sacraments are highly sanctifying, bring auspicious influences, increase devotion as well as peace. This special Nrsimha yagna which was also performed last year, is potent and much needed for the times we’re in.

Once again, EVERYONE is welcome to participate in this ceremony by submitting your name (and those of your loved ones) to get the blessings of Lord Nrsimhadeva! Click HERE to submit your names by Sunday, May 23. Please note, there is no charge for this. For opportunities to sponsor this ceremony and other areas of the festival, click HERE.
