Gita Jayanti will be celebrated Monday evening, December 8th, at ISKCON Toronto and a warm invitation goes out to everyone join us for the festivities. Every year, as a tradition, we read the entire Gita (approximately 700 verses) over a two and a half hour span. This year, the program will begin at 5:00pm with the reading and will be followed by a presentation by HH Bhaktimarga Swami.
HH Bhaktimarga Swami’s presentation will include a riveting mini-drama performance about the Gita. During the Sunday Feast this evening, devotees were pleasantly surprised with a mini-drama, featuring two gifted actors from our congregation, Rishi and Shashi prabhus. The drama depicted Arjuna’s plight before the Battle of Kuruksetra and Krsna’s initial teachings to him.
.
On Monday evening, Maharaj will present another mini-drama and it will surely be a treat for those who are able to come for the festival. We are also happy to announce that we will be streaming our Gita Jayanti celebration live from the ISKCON Toronto Blog.
