Rama Navami Celebrations

Thursday, March 30th marks the Appearance Day of Lord Rama (popularly known as Rama Navami) and will be celebrated at the ISKCON Toronto Hare Krishna Temple!

Lord Rama is an incarnation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna. Lord Rama is the perfect monarch; He vanquished the maleficent king Ravana and established an age of peace and prosperity in His kingdom. He ruled His kingdom according to the injunctions of the Vedas (holy scriptures) and always put His subjects first. His Lilas (pastimes) are narrated in the scripture Ramayana and serve as examples of righteousness and following dharma (prescribed duty). The Ramayana depicts Lord Rama’s dedication to His wife Sita, His unbreakable bond with His brother Lakshmana, the stalwart devotee-companion Hanuman, and the remarkable ways in which they overcame the greatest of struggles.
