On Wednesday, May 6, 2020, ISKCON Toronto will celebrate Nrsimha Caturdasi (The Appearance Day of Lord Nrsimha). Lord Nrsimhadeva is one of Lord Krishna’s wondrous incarnations, in the form of half-man and half-lion. He descended to protect his young devotee Sri Prahlada Maharaja from his torturous father, King Hiranyakashipu.
As the Temple remains closed to the public, festivities will be conducted virtually over several days as follows:

May 4 – Special Dramatic Dialogue at 7:00 PM
May 5 – “A guided Meditation on Lord Nrsimhadev’s Form” a unique presentation 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
** Special Attraction- Participate in Nrsimha Fire Ceremony ***
Celebrations on May 6 will continue into the evening with a special yagna (fire sacrifice) ceremony. Prayers to invoke powerful mantras for protection, appealing to the Lord’s incarnation who destroys negative forces, along with His weapons will be chanted. Such Vedic Sacraments are highly sanctifying, bring auspicious influences, increase devotion as well as peace. As such, this special Nrsimha yagna is potent in today’s trying times.
