The Toronto Hare Krishna Book Club continues with a new book for December – ‘The Laws of Nature’. It consists of only 80 pages so if you read 2 – 3 pages a day you can complete the book in a month!
Here is a quick synopsis of the book:
This absorbing book explores the age-old mysteries of karma and reincarnation, free will and destiny, enlightenment, and liberation. Beg, steal or borrow, bribe or cheat, somehow or other get money and enjoy. Or at least survive. In the crazy rush to get ahead at any cost, do we ever stop to consider that we might – just might – be held responsible for our actions? Karma and the laws governing nature are a baffling, entangling force that shackles us to this world. Understand the workings of the laws and the Lawmaker, get free of the restraints, and attain real freedom.
Compiled from a series of talks given on the Sri Isopanisad in 1970 & SP’s commentary on Srimad Bhagavatam Canto 3, Chapter 30, God & the Law of Karma, Bad Karma, The Peace Formula, Krsna Consciousness at Home.
The objective of the book club is to facilitate and encourage readings from the wonderful philosophy of Krishna consciousness. We encourage you to participate! We will be sending out daily quotes from the book to those who register. To register for the book club, email toronto.sankirtan@gmail.com.
Happy reading!
