As mentioned in a previous blog post, Toronto’s Hare Krishna community is very excited to welcome HH Gopal Krsna Goswami as he visits our city over the next few days. Maharaj will be giving a discourse tonight as part of a special extended Sunday Feast program.
Being the first Sunday after our annual Ratha-Yatra (Festival of India), this Sunday will present us with a chance to celebrate and informally thank the whole community for helping to put on the wonderful festival last week.
Toronto’s Hare Krishna community will also be welcoming Brajraj Sharan from the holy land of Vrndavan, India. He will be making a very small presentation during tonight’s program about the recent problems in India related to the blocking of the sacred Yamuna River. He is travelling around North America raising awareness of this important cause. You can learn more by visiting www.saveyamuna.org.
Of course, our guest of honour will be HH Gopal Krsna Goswami and he will be presenting the main discourse. A senior disciple of Srila Prabhupada, Maharaj is presently GBC of many countries throughout the world including parts of Russia, America, Canada, Europe, Asia, Africa, and India and has many disciples world wide. He is actively spearheading and involved with many of ISKCON projects globally and we are very excited to be welcoming him for his annual visit to Toronto.
