Nine Processes of Bhakti Youth Retreat

On November 19th, Jiv Jago Youth Group will be hosting an all-day youth retreat at Gir Farms. Alongside spiritual discourse, the day will include activities, discussion, and of course, prasadam! This youth retreat aims to bring together youth from temples across the GTA for a fun-filled spiritual day.

Jiv Jago, created in 2019, acts as a forum to bring youth together on a spiritual level and allows them to have association, even while busy with services, school, and other commitments. Jiv Jago’s mission is to connect the youth to ISKCON through Srila Prabhupada’s teachings and supportive friendships.

With some convincing from the youth and blessings of senior devotees and temple management, Jayanti devi dasi coordinates with the youth to organize the group. This upcoming retreat will see Jiv Jago youth participating in a variety of ways- from the planning stages all the way up to taking on responsibilities the actual day.

Much of the youth across the GTA have been involved with ISKCON for years, already being involved in services such as prasadam distribution, cow protection, and book distribution, just to name a few. As such, discussions are often lively and enriched, with the youth being able to draw on their spiritual background, experiences, education, and occasionally, sense of humour to reflect on a variety of topics.

The theme of the upcoming retreat will be the Nine Processes of Bhakti and will hopefully inspire youth in their services and spiritual lives.
