Update Regarding Ratha-Yatra (Festival of India)

We pray that you and your loved ones are safe and blessed. We have some major updates  regarding our 48th Festival of India that is held annually on the Toronto Centre Island and attended by thousands over the two-day event.

On March 23, Mayor John Tory declared an emergency in the City of Toronto, including suspending all major events until June 30, 2020. This is part of the City of Toronto’s ongoing efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 and will ensure the municipal government can continue to act and respond quickly to the pandemic and any other events that arise in the weeks ahead.

To ensure the safety of all of our attendees as well as the close proximity of the deadline to our festival date, the Temple and Festival management have decided that we will have to cancel our grand Ratha-Yatra/Festival of India on July 11-12, 2020. It is certainly not an easy decision to make as it is a festival that is very dear to all of our hearts and you all participate in so enthusiastically.

Although the Temple is closed for visitors the care of our presiding Deities Sri Sri Radha Ksira-Chora Gopinatha continues. We urge you to continue your support through online donations and joining our monthly donation program to help maintain our Temple through these difficult times.
